Quite the deal they’ve got there

It seems that the Mises Institute made a mistake in their latest catalog. They listed the hardcover copy of the new edition of Ludwig Von Mises’ Human Action for only $20! Well, now that it’s been pointed out to them, the book is in fact only $20, so get yourself a copy while it’s dirt cheap.

Old Ideas in New Light

J. Grayson Lilburn examines the Iliad in the light of Mises’ theory of ideological might. I’ve not read the Iliad, though I’m familiar with the story, and I’m trying to get through some of Mises’ work, but this looks like an interesting analysis anyway.

Combine 1 part government money with 1 part IRS oversight, mix well and serve. Silly me, I thought a free press was the result of competition in the marketplace and no forceful restrictions on publication.

Suing Toyata

Apparently some people are upset with Toyota. Not because the car they bought isn’t as safe as they were told, but because now the car they bought isn’t worth as much. Just because somebody sells you something, doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to be valuable later.
