City sues couple for saving water

Via Blog of Bile

It seems that Orange County California wants residents to use more water during the ongoing drought. They are charging a couple with a violation of a city ordinance requiring at least 40% of a yard have live vegetation after the couple removed their lawn and installed drought resistant plants and wood-chips to prevent erosion and conserve water.

“Compliance, that’s all we’ve ever wanted,” said Senior Assistant City Atty. Wayne Winthers.

You don’t say.
